EXTENDED SUPPORT ENDS OCTOBER 14th, 2025

Microsoft has announced that support for Windows 10 will end on October 14, 2025. This means that after this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for devices running Windows 10. While this doesn’t mean that Windows 10 will suddenly stop working, it does leave devices vulnerable to security threats and compatibility issues.

So, what does this mean for users still on Windows 10?

1. Security Risks – Without regular security updates, Windows 10 faces higher vulnerability to malware and cyber threats.

2. Compatibility Concerns – Software and hardware support for Windows 10 may diminish, causing issues with new applications and devices.

3. Upgrade Options – Users should consider moving to Windows 11 for better security and performance.

4. Hardware Considerations – Ensure your device meets Windows 11 requirements or consider upgrades. Older devices may not be compatible with Windows 11 or may require hardware upgrades to run optimally.

5. Data Backup – Backup important data before upgrading to avoid potential loss.

6. Migration Planning – Businesses should plan carefully for a smooth transition to Windows 11 to avoid disruptions.

FEATURES OF WINDOWS 11

  • Increased Security
  • Access to Copilot
  • Improved Multitasking with Snap Assist & Virtual Desktops
  • Enhanced Performance & Accessibility
  • Redesigned User Interface
  • Windows Backup

HOW TO UPGRADE

Higher hardware requirements, rebuild labor costs, and required downtime often make it not possible or not cost effective to upgrade Windows on existing computers. This is especially true if the computer is over five years old and past its expected life cycle. Most often, it is more cost effective to replace the computer.
